The briquette tray fits the first generation Alfresco ALX2 that did not use the locking bar. You can still use these trays in the second generation ALX2 if you do not want the locking bar.
It sits above the burner and is essential for spreading an even flame across the grilling surface. It should be replaced when it is no longer in tact.
