We’ve been selling grills and repairing them since 1956. We’ve learned a world of information about the quality and longevity of hundreds of grill brands. In this post, we’re sharing what we believe are the best-of-the-best U.S.-made luxury grill brands—so you can enjoy the Ultimate Grilling Experience year after year.
To us, it’s not even close: Alfresco, Lynx, and Twin Eagles.
All three share professional, commercial-quality manufacturing, all can last a lifetime (with some TLC), and all are proudly Made in the USA (California). If you’re considering a built-in grill, these are elite choices—but the differences below can matter big time depending on how you cook and what you value most.

All of these brands offer a limited lifetime warranty on their burners.
These warranties are “limited” because they do not cover misuse or abuse. We always recommend maintaining your burners by cleaning (excluding the Lynx Cast Ceramic Burner) them at least 2x per year. Here’s how you know exactly when it’s time to replace a burner.

This burner is innovative and unique to the market: it retains heat exceptionally well and is also self-cleaning. You don’t have to worry about clogged gas port holes (a common issue) because the design conceals them from drippings. Every time you heat up the grill, you’re not only getting even heat—you’re also consistently cleaning the burners.
Best For
All three manufacturers offer an option to add a caramelizing searing burner used worldwide by leading chefs. These are ceramic infrared-style burners that deliver intense heat—fast.
These burners deliver consistent heat, period. Windy conditions by the ocean? No problem. Performance stays steady because you don’t have an open flame getting pushed around.
Alfresco’s Sear Zone brings steakhouse power and control and can reach 1,500 degrees in four minutes.

Twin Eagles and Alfresco use a standard rectangular shaped infrared burner (pictured above), while Lynx uses a distinctive trident shape.
Lynx’s trident burner offers instantaneous temperature control ranging from 300–1,000 degrees.

With Lynx, you can add this feature at no extra charge (seen here). In addition, Lynx is the only manufacturer to offer a lifetime warranty on their sear burner—a pretty big deal.
All three grills require electricity to power the igniters. This is a great feature because you don’t have to change batteries—though you must have electricity nearby. Electrically powered igniters are proving to be more reliable than older battery-operated systems since they remain corrosion free.
Twin Eagles and Lynx use a Hot Surface system versus an electrode. At The BBQ Depot, we prefer the reliability of electronic ignition. Lighting is more consistent: the glow system heats a metal probe that glows orange and ignites the burner.

All three brands use a tray with ceramic briquettes. This is the best type of system because ceramic briquettes:

Lynx and Alfresco both use heavy-duty round stainless steel rod grates. Twin Eagles distinguishes itself with thick 3/8" hexagonal grates.
The hexagonal shape provides more mass than traditional round rod grates. Plus, the flat side increases food-to-surface contact, helping food cook more evenly and transferring more heat into the food.

This rotisserie motor is what sets Alfresco and Twin Eagles above much of the competition (including Lynx). The motor is integrated into the firebox, eliminating a bulky exterior rotisserie motor. See it on ALXE grills here.
Both use a chain-driven design that provides consistent, uniform rotation. The integrated motor also allows for a sleeker hood design by eliminating the need for a cutout for the spit rod. Twin Eagles goes one step further by adding rotisserie spit rod storage conveniently located in the grill’s drip tray handle.
Lynx uses an exterior mounted rotisserie motor. This can be cumbersome because you have to store the rod and motor when not in use, making rotisserie cooking less convenient.
If you want to go beyond “top tier” into truly statement-piece territory, these are two standout upgrades we recommend exploring:
All three brands are proudly made in the United States, making them some of the highest quality outdoor cooking equipment in the market. Truly—you can’t go wrong with any of them.
They also all have complementary product ecosystems including side burners, power burners, pizza ovens, griddles (Alfresco uses an optional accessory used with the Versa Burner), refrigeration, and more.
Twin Eagles introduced a wood pellet WiFi-enabled smoker that you can add to your outdoor kitchen. This opens the door to building a complete outdoor kitchen setup you’ll love: see outdoor kitchen planning ideas here.
If you don’t need professional chef quality, each brand has a more affordable luxury alternative:
What we love about the Sedona by Lynx line is that its design complements Lynx products—so you can mix and match across the Lynx ecosystem to meet budget needs. With Artisan and Delta Heat, you cannot do this.
At the end of the day, aesthetics matter. Which brand best complements your outdoor kitchen style? Lynx and Twin Eagles use blue LED control panel lighting, while Alfresco uses a more relaxing amber color.

We should also mention: Alfresco includes a grill cover with all of their grills. At the price of these products, they all should.
Through our extensive experience with all of these brands, we believe Lynx has by far the best customer service. They cannot be beat in this category.

We have been selling Lynx since they were introduced in the late 90's, Alfresco since 2004, and Twin Eagles for the past 10 years! All three brands offer a limited lifetime warranty on their burners. “Limited” warranties do not cover misuse or abuse—routine maintenance matters.
Lynx stands out with their Cordiarite Cast Ceramic Burner (25,000 BTUs per burner), designed to retain heat and reduce clogging issues by concealing ports from drippings.
Alfresco and Twin Eagles integrate the motor into the firebox and use a chain-driven design for consistent rotation and a sleeker hood. Lynx uses an exterior mounted motor.
Yes—each uses a tray with ceramic briquettes to retain heat efficiently, distribute flame evenly, radiate flavor, and use less gas.
For Twin Eagles, the Eagle One line is a showpiece upgrade. For Alfresco, the AIPG Intelligent Grill series is the next level above ALXE and truly stands out in the market as there is no other grill like it.
