When Should You Replace the Burner?
Many burner problems are caused by clogged ports, not a failed burner. Clean the ports first using a 3/32" drill bit by hand.
Replace the burner if:
- Burner ports have enlarged or cannot be cleaned
- Flames are uneven
- The brass is flaking or separating
- The venturi tube is damaged
Brass vs. Ceramic vs. Cast Iron
- Cast Brass: Longest life, corrosion resistant, OEM performance.
- Ceramic: Excellent radiant heat but more fragile.
- Cast Iron: Lower-cost alternative that requires periodic oiling.
