Lynx grill replacement ceramic briquette trays are installed above the brass or ceramic burners to absorb, radiate, and evenly distribute heat across the cooking surface. Properly functioning trays help reduce flare-ups and improve overall grill performance. Never install a briquette tray over the prosear.

We offer both OEM Lynx briquette trays (original manufacturer parts) and aftermarket briquette trays (a high-quality, lower-cost alternative), along with replacement ceramic briquettes. To identify the correct tray for your grill, see our briquette tray identification guide or review the information below.

Lynx Briquette Tray Clip vs Non-Clip Designs

Older Lynx grills, including many Premier Series models, used briquette trays without retaining clips. For these grills, aftermarket briquette trays are an exact-fit replacement and function identically to the original.

Many Lynx grills manufactured from 2006 forward use briquette trays with retaining clips designed to keep ceramic briquettes from shifting. At this time, clip-style trays are typically available only as OEM parts.

Important: The presence or absence of clips does not affect heat distribution or cooking performance as long as the grill remains stationary. Clips are primarily a stabilization feature.

BBQ Depot Tech Tip:

We are often asked if the clips are necessary. Here is our take. The clips, in our opinion are a poor design (we like locking bars better). They are difficult to put in and are sharp. If the grill is not moved around, like built-in models, do not use the clips.

Lynx Briquette Tray Compatibility

Lynx ceramic briquette trays are used across all Lynx grill models based on grill size and production year, rather than a specific model name.

  • Available for 27", 30", 36", 42", 48", and 54" Lynx grills
  • Pre-2006 models typically use non-clip trays
  • 2006 and newer models commonly use clip-style trays

If you know your grill size and approximate year, selecting the correct briquette tray is straightforward. If not, our team can help confirm which trays were used in your grill using your model and serial number.
