  1. extremely difficult to change out

the product itself is fine and works like a charm .. however, getting the old one out was extremely difficult ... on a Lyzx 42 model the left side is more exposed to the heat and thus the screw holding the electrode in place is next to impossible to change out ... the heat over 6 years fused the screw in place .. like others said I also had to use a dremel tool to put the screw out and eventually used a drill bit to get the last remaining bits of the screw out ... not an easy job but doable with the right tools (BTW, the middle and right side electrode easily came out for replacement) .. I also bought a new housing cover for the electrode, but the new ones have less covering over the electrode so I ended up using the old housing/cover unit ... got it fixed, but took a lot of time and a lot of patience ... TIP: if you can get the electrode to slide out without having to remove the housing/cover unit and screw then this is an easy fix .. I was able to pull the ceramic inside part of electrode out, but could not get the metal casing of the old electrode to come out so I had to remove all parts and start from scratch

  4. Easy fix...after fighting with original retaining screw

Like other reviewers, took a while to get the original retaining screw off. Penetrating oil didn't work so ended up cutting it off AFTER I stripped the screw head beyond recognition. Luckily I had the same size machine screw in my bucket 'o bits and bobs, otherwise a trip to the local hardware is in your future since this part did not come with a replacement screw.

  5. Not same as original

This igniter was too short and would not ignite the flame. Had to be altered so that it extended on to the burner.
Other wise would have been a 10 min swapout.

  6. perfect fit

Easy to replace, just takes a half hour to dissect and put back together.
Soak down screw with penetrating oil, easier to take off!
    Works great!!!!

  7. somewhat difficult to change out

No matter what I tried I could not get the stainless screw out that holds the ignitor in place. I finally had to use a dremel tool with a grinding wheel on it to grind down the head of the screw to get it to release.
The new part was easy to install however. It was just hard to get the old one out.
