How Many Grids Does My Grill Need?
30" Grills: Use (1) or (2) grids depending on whether the grill has a sear zone.
42" Grills: Use (1) or (2) grids depending on configuration. Some models also use grid CG106.

BBQ Depot Tech Tip – Sear Zone Grills:
If your Alfresco ALX2 grill has a Sear Zone, this cooking grid
is used over the standard U-burner sections. The Sear Zone uses a different style cooking grid designed
for infrared burners.
