This electrode works inside the IG50 Collector Box. If the electrode is sparking but the burner will not light, inspect the collector box for rust, burn-through, or deterioration before replacing the electrode.
How the Electrode & Collector Box Work Together
The electrode produces the ignition spark inside the collector box. The collector box helps capture gas near the electrode so the spark can ignite the main burner.
If the collector box is heavily rusted, deteriorated, or burned through, it may no longer retain enough gas around the electrode for proper ignition.
BBQ Depot Expert Tip: If you have a strong visible spark and the collector box is in good condition, check the position of the metal electrode probe. A small adjustment closer to or farther from the burner may improve ignition.
