How the Sedona Ignition System Works
Unlike traditional push-button ignition systems, Sedona by Lynx grills use an electronic ignition system activated by valve-mounted micro-switches. When you press and turn a burner control knob, the micro-switch signals the ignition module, which generates a spark at the electrode to ignite the burner.
A unique feature of Sedona grills is their 9-volt battery backup. Under normal operation, the ignition system is powered by the grill's transformer. If household power is interrupted, simply install a new 9-volt battery and the ignition system will continue to operate, allowing you to light your grill during a power outage.
If your Sedona grill won't ignite, don't assume the ignition module has failed. First verify that the grill has power or a new 9-volt backup battery installed. Then listen or look for a rapid clicking sound when a control knob is pressed. Because each burner uses a valve-mounted micro-switch, a failed micro-switch can prevent that burner from sparking even if the ignition module is working properly. If you have a burner that lights, try installing that micro-switch on the burner that does not spark to see if that solves the issue.
