American Outdoor Grill replacement parts fall into several key categories. Understanding what each part does and when it typically needs replacement helps you maintain optimal grill performance and plan proactive maintenance.
AOG burners are U-shaped stainless steel tubes with precision-drilled ports that distribute flame evenly across the cooking surface. Burners are the heart of your grill's heating system.
When to replace: Replace burners if ports are severely clogged and can't be cleaned, if the burner has holes or cracks, or if flame distribution becomes uneven despite cleaning.
Maintenance tip: Clean burner ports annually with a drill bit to clear individual ports if needed. Be sure to shake out any debris from the center tube.
We stock: OEM and aftermarket burners for all 24", 30", and 36" AOG models, both T-Series and L-Series.
AOG cooking grids feature the distinctive Diamond Sear rod pattern—a unique stainless steel rod configuration that provides more metal-to-food contact than standard round rods, delivering superior heat transfer and bold sear marks.
When to replace: Cooking grids should be replaced when rods become severely pitted, warped, or corroded to the point where cleaning doesn't restore smooth cooking surfaces. With proper cleaning and maintenance, quality stainless steel grids can last 5-10+ years.
Maintenance tip: Brush grids immediately after each use while still warm. Deep clean with hot soapy water quarterly. Avoid harsh chemicals that can damage stainless steel.
We stock: Genuine Diamond Sear cooking grids for all AOG grill sizes.
Vaporizing panels are stainless steel plates that sit above the burners, distributing heat evenly and vaporizing drippings to add flavor while reducing flare-ups. These are sometimes called heat tents, flavor bars, or heat distribution plates.
When to replace: Replace vaporizing panels when they become severely warped, develop large holes from corrosion, or break. Minor surface rust is normal and doesn't affect function. Typical lifespan: 3-7 years depending on use frequency and maintenance.
Maintenance tip: Remove and clean vaporizing panels 2-3 times per year. Scrape off heavy buildup and wash with hot soapy water. Allow to dry completely before reinstalling.
We stock: OEM and aftermarket vaporizing panels for all AOG models. Sold individually or as complete sets for full grill coverage.
AOG grills use two different ignition systems depending on series:
T-Series (Piezo Ignition): Flame-thrower piezo igniters generate a spark at the knob. Components include ignition wire, and electrode.
L-Series (Electric Ignition): 120V electric ignition uses a push-button switch, ignition module and electrode.
When to replace: Replace ignition components when they fail to produce consistent spark at the burner. Common issues include worn electrodes, damaged ignition wires, or failed piezo buttons/ignition modules. Older AOG grills used a battery module.
We stock: Complete ignition systems and individual components for both T-Series and L-Series grills and older battery operated AOG (before the series split).
Control valves regulate gas flow to each burner, allowing precise temperature control. Orifices are brass jets that meter gas flow and are specific to fuel type (natural gas or propane).
When to replace: Replace valves if they stick, leak, or don't provide smooth control throughout the rotation range. Replace orifices when converting between fuel types or if damaged.
Maintenance tip: Lubricate valve stems annually with WD-40 type lubricant. Never force a stuck valve—the valve stem will break and then you must replace it.
We stock: OEM control valves, valve components, and natural gas/LP orifice sets for all AOG models.
