Important: Many early Lynx grills were originally equipped with black plastic control knobs. These knobs have been discontinued and replaced by Lynx with stainless steel metal knobs, which are now the official OEM replacement for applicable models.
Why Did Lynx Switch to Metal Knobs?
Early high-performance gas grills from several premium manufacturers used plastic control knobs. Because luxury grills generate significantly more heat than standard residential grills, prolonged exposure to high temperatures could cause plastic knobs to discolor, warp, or deteriorate over time.
To improve durability and heat resistance, Lynx transitioned to stainless steel control knobs. The metal knobs are more resistant to heat, provide a premium appearance, and are the current OEM replacement for discontinued black plastic knobs.
BBQ Depot Expert Tip: If your original knobs are black but the replacement you're seeing is stainless steel, that's normal. The stainless steel version is the updated OEM replacement supplied by Lynx.
